After 25 years in San Jose, California, my family moved back to Yokohama, Japan.

Moving documents spaces and memories left behind and returned to: the houses my parents rented in San Jose, and the Hiyoshi home that had to be sold due to my grandmother's dementia.

Weaving between empty rooms and familiar objects in Tokyo and San Jose, the book has a quiet contradiction: As my grandmother loses her memories, we return to them, unpack, re-live, and move on.

Through these photographs, I hope to keep accurate record and feeling.
